Mindfulness and Meditation

“Mindfulness is the aware, balanced acceptance of the present experience. It isn’t more complicated than that. It is opening to or receiving the present moment, pleasant or unpleasant, just as it is, without either clinging to it or rejecting it.” – Sylvia Boorstein

Our overall health and well-being begins with the state of our present moment and the thoughts we are entertaining. We know from neuroscience that meditation and mindfulness increase our sense of belonging, peace, connection and love. Just as the body has patterns, so do our thoughts, memories and stories that we tell ourselves. As we begin to see these patterns through meditation, it offers us the opportunity to change the patterns that don’t serve our highest potential.

In this section, I will share some of the insights that neuroscience has given us to support our state of being. I will share resources, meditations, experts in the field and their disciplines. There will also be guided videos in which I will guide you through practices that I have found to be helpful in healing and becoming more aware of the body, present moment and current state of being.

Affirmations

“If you believe the phrase ‘you are what we think,’ then life truly stems from your thoughts. But we cannot rely purely on thoughts; we must translate thoughts into words and eventually into actions in order to manifest our intentions.” – Dr. Carmen Harra

Affirmations are used to take thought energies and move them into intention and focus. At times, our thoughts and feelings are not in alignment with each other. We may be thinking one thing and feeling another. Through affirmations, we can begin to bring thought, mind and energy into balance and harmony.

Affirmations are a powerful way to bring presence to the moment. Here, I will offer examples of affirmations that can assist you in creating a more authentic you.
